The anchorage at Ajaccio, Corsica
The anchorage at Ajaccio, Corsica, seen from the waterfront. Palm trees, motor cars and many people are in the foreground. An Orient Line passenger liner, seen from very fine off her starboard bow, is at anchor in the bay. There were five of these ships built between 1924 and 1929 and they were all used for occasional cruising. In the left background is a French Navy Bretagne class battleship. The far side of the bay is backed by wooded hill slopes and mountains. A vertical format negative.
