The anchorage at Ajaccio, Corsica, seen from high ground above the town, looking east. The Cunard Line passenger/cargo liner Laconia (1922), seen from off her starboard beam, is at anchor in the bay. An unidentified barquentine is anchored nearer the shore. A breakwater is on the left of the picture. The far side of the bay is backed by wooded hill slopes and mountains.
