The north harbour at Algiers, looking east from the waterfront.
The north harbour of Algiers looking east from the waterfront. In the foreground is a large quay with canvas covered piles of commodities and rows of barrels on it. Berthed stern-on to the end of the quay is a Cunard passenger and cruise liner on the left, the Italian Navy armoured cruiser San Marco (1908) in the centre and her near sister San Giorgio (1908) on the right. Both of the cruisers have awnings rigged over their quarterdecks, the San Marco has short masts and the San Giorgio has tall topmasts. A coaling hulk is alongside the breakwater. The negative is slightly unsharp.
