Looking north-west from a ship berthed stern-on to the Compagnie Generale Transatlantique terminal quay in the north harbour at Algiers. A number of motor vehicles are parked at the end of the terminal building and a pontoon is secured to the end of the quay. A number of pontoons are moored close to the quayside and an unidentified passenger/cargo steamer is alongside the adjoining mole. Beyond this steamer is the lift tower from the waterfront to the upper roadway.
