Cruisers and destroyers of the French Fleet berthed in the north harbour at Algiers.

Looking east-north-east from the upper roadway at Algiers showing a starboard side view, taken from abaft the beam, of the passenger cruise liner Montrose (1922) off the Compagnie Generale Transatlantique terminal quay in the north harbour. On the left of the picture is the bow of the short sea passenger/cargo liner El Kantara (1932). The three French Navy heavy cruisers Tourville (1926), Foch (1929) and the Algerie (1932) are beyond the Montrose (1922). They all have awnings rigged. In the foreground is the railway yard and beyond are seven destroyers of the L'Adroit and Bourrasque classes with one destroyer of the Chacal class on the right. They are all berthed stern-on to the quay and have awnings rigged. From left to right they are identified as unknown, Orage (1924), Brestois (1927), Forbin (1928), unknown, Trombe (1925), Tornade (1925) and unknown.
