Spithead with barge
Signed by artist. Two ketch-rigged Thames barges (which did make coastal passages) appear to be beating seaward. Two large warships, one a four-stacker lie at anchor under the coast of the Isle of Wight, with two smaller steam vessels, probably picket-boats or similar tenders heading in from them towards Portsmouth.
