'Iron Duke'-class battleships at Scapa Flow, 1917-18
A study of warships in Scapa Flow at sunset, with a balloon floating above to the right. It has been given a pencil frame, propably for reproduction, with the word 'Scapa' inscribed in the bottom right corner, though not apparently in Wyllie's hand. The ships are two 'Iron Duke'-class battleships, with a cruiser in the distance between them. It is possible that the 'Iron Duke'-class on the right is intended to be the 'Emperor of India', which is known to have been equipped to hoist a kite balloon.
