Soldiers practising shooting for coastal defence: design for a cartouche

A drawing of soldiers at shooting practice on a beach, firing on targets set out at sea, with buildings and groynes behind. Two officers observe the score, one with field-glasses. A swag above and traces of similar decoration at the sides suggest this is a graphic design for a cartouche of some sort related to coastal defence. Wyllie has made some notes of clock times bottom left and right but not for any obviously related purposes. See also PAD9956.
