The commercial waterfront at Amboina in the Moluccas.
A slightly distant view of the commercial waterfront at Amboina in the Moluccas. On the left are wharves with storage sheds and a number of small local sailing craft are alongside the wharves. One of the sheds has BPM on the gable end and Ambon on the roof. The passenger landing slip is on the right and eleven pitched roof sheds or storehouses are at the back of the wharf next to it. The Gouvernementsmarine patrol vessel Fomalhaut (1923), seen from off her port side ahead of the beam, is alongside a wharf on the right. The photographer is on board the Cunard passenger ship Franconia (1923) which is at anchor and an outrigger canoe is approaching the accommodation ladder.
