The south corner of the harbour at Bahia, Brazil

The south corner of the harbour at Bahia, Brazil, taken from the quayside looking south-west showing a number of single masted, lateen rigged sailing vessels in the corner of the harbour. Cargo is being discharged and a large number of people are on the slipway. Motor lorries, horse and cart combinations and donkeys with pannier baskets are in evidence. A two storey building under a pitche roof and with a central clock tower is on the right of the picture. This image was probably taken in the period 1948-1949.
