The ship is alongside Shed 8 and the photographer is on the quayside looking aft and to starboard showing passengers looking over the rail on the quarterdeck bartering with local traders in their boats alongside the ship. The traders are selling earthenware pots, wicker baskets and fruit and any purchases the passengers make are hauled aboard on rope lines. A vertical format negative.
