The north end of the commercial port at Bahia, Brazil, looking north-north-east from the stern of the passenger cruise ship Gripsholm (1925) which is berthed alongside Number 8 Shed. Single and two masted gaff rigged sailing craft are alongside the quay and the nearest boat, named Eduardo No. 5899, is loaded with hardwood logs. Rail mounted cranes numbers 10 and 11, a steam railway tank locomotive and heaps of coal are on the quay. In the background on the far side of the bay is the Catholic Igreja São Joaquim. A vertical format negative.
