A starboard side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the Orient Line cruise ship Orford (1928) stopped off a mountainous shoreline, possibly in Norwegian waters.

A starboard side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the Orient Line cruise ship Orford (1928) stopped off a mountainous shoreline. An accommodation ladder is rigged to the main deck aft and two small boats are near it. Lifeboat number 19 has been launched and lifeboats 11, 15 and 17 have been swung out and lowered to promenade deck level. The lowering of these three boats indicates that the ship is preparing for a boat race. The ship is not displaying an anchor ball daymark and her starboard anchor is housed. The land in the background could be Norway or the Adriatic, both popular destinations for this ship.
