HMS 'Renown', seen in port-broadside view, and gaff-rigged fishing vessels
original art: drawing. The top sketch shows the battlecruiser 'Renown' in 1916-17 before her funnel-mounted searchlights were regrouped. The gaff-rigged sailing boats below are probably fishing vessels. The location is probably the Portsmouth area (there is an offshore 'Palmerston fort' in the centre background), with the boats sailing out in the early morning.
