Shipping in the west end of the Careenage at Bridgetown, Barbados. The photographer is looking north from the south side showing four 2 masted schooners berthed alongside the north side wharves of the Careenage and the premises of S.P. Musson Son & Co. Ltd. are in the right background. Rowing boats are moored in midstream, including one with "Colonial hotel" on her hull. On the right is the entrance to Blackwoods Screw Dock, completed in 1893, and three of the threaded vertical screws can be clearly seen.
