A ship's motor lifeboat number 2 approaching the landing slip next to Blackwoods Screw Dock on the south side of the Careenage at Bridgetown, Barbados. A crewman is standing on the bow of the boat holding a boathook while a uniformed man is standing at the end of the slip holding a mooring line. The lifeboat is loaded with passengers and crew and is from either the Gripsholm (1925) or the Kungsholm (1928). Schooners are berthed to the north of the screw dock and three of the threaded vertical screws can clearly be seen. Motor vehicles and two cranes are on The Wharf Road on the north side of the Careenage.
