A slightly distant port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the 3 masted schooner Florence M. Douglas (1927) under way leaving the Careenage, Bridgetown, Barbados. She is under tow, her fore staysail and mainsail are set and her foresail is being hoisted. A 2 masted schooner is berthed alongside The Wharf Road in front of the premises of T.S. Garraway & Co. Ltd. The Custom House in The Wharf Road is on the left. The stern of a schooner is near to Blackwoods Screw Dock entrance on the right of the picture. Rowing boats are moored in midstream and some of them have the name of the owner and a port number on the transom.
