The photographer is looking north-by-west from the Chamberlain Bridge and the Public Building in Broad Street is in the background. The clock in the tower of the Public Building is reading 09.30. Motor passenger launches, two of which are named Titan and Swan, are alongside the Adalina (1935). A building in the left background has a Ford logo and a sign reading "Watch the Fords go by" on it.
