The entrance to the Careenage at Bridgetown, Barbados, from a boat in Carlisle Bay. The south breakwater is hiding the hulls of two 2 masted schooners which are berthed alongside the north wharves at the western end of the Careenage. The extensive premises, including the lookout station, of Da Costa & Co. Ltd, agents for the Costa Steamship Co Ltd, are fronting the north wharves. A rowing boat with the port number 187 is in the foreground.
