Activity in the Careenage at Bridgetown, Barbados.
Five 2 masted schooners berthed in the Careenage at Bridgetown, Barbados. The photographer is looking west-by-north from the south side near the Chamberlain Bridge. The schooner of the right is the Elfrida Cobham (1929) which vanishes from the 1932 Mercantile Navy List. Beyond this vessel is the building of S.P. Musson Son & Co. Ltd. Lighters in the foreground are laden with wooden barrels and wooden packing cases. The nearest schooner on the left has a name beginning with Jess. The schooners have awnings draped over their main booms and the schooner in the left background is the Florence M. Douglas (1927). A vertical format negative.
