Three schooners are alongside wharves and an harbour police rowing boat crewed by the two is in the foreground. The custom house and the premises occupied by Robert Thom Ltd and T.S. Garraway & Co Ltd are fronting The Wharf Road. The clock tower of the Public Building is in the right background and the clock is reading 10.40.
