No 5 [Lower Hangar] Deck, location 5G70: Interior of the Torpedo Stowage compartment, looking aft towards the bulkhead at about frame 63. The open door in the centre leads to the Aircraft Lift Well and on the right are empty torpedo storage racks. An ASW torpedo on a trolley has been left part way through the door.

This is part of a series of photographs taken during the final stages of HMS Ark Royal's last major refit which was completed in 1970. The location references are derived from the deck plans in the latest edition of the ship's NBCD book.
