A general view of the north end of the port of Barcelona.
A general view of the north end of the port of Barcelona. The photographer is looking east-north-east from an elevated position inland of the dock road showing a building under construction and two cargo ships alongside the Muelle de San Beltran in the foreground. Berthed on the south side of the Muelle de Barcelona are the cargo ships Calypso (1911) and Atle Jarl (1919). The central tower of the Barceloneta Beach to Montjuic cable car (Transbordador Aeri del Port) is on the Muelle de Barcelona and it has a restaurant half way up the tower and the Mirador Bar is at the top. On the right is the domed building of the Reial Club Maritim de Barcelona. Various ships are berthed in the Darsena Nacional and the Darsena del Comercio including the 2 funnelled passenger liner Juan Sebastian Elcano (1928) alongside the Muelle Baleares. The beach tower of the Barceloneta Beach to Montjuic cable car (Transbordador Aeri del Port) is in the background and, to the right of it, a number of passenger and cargo ships are under repair berthed stern on to the Muelle Nuevo.
