HMS Ark Royal (1950)

No 3 [Island] Deck, location 03J. Interior of the compass platform, looking aft off to port and to port from near the pelorus. To the right is a radar operator's position, while beyond that is a cable trunk. The passage in the centre leads to the 'Flyco' [Flying Control Postion].

This is part of a series of photographs taken during the final stages of HMS Ark Royal's last major refit which was completed in 1970. The location references are derived from the deck plans in the latest edition of the ship's NBCD book.
