On board the Swedish passenger cruise ship Gripsholm (1925) in the North Channel approaching the North Basin at Buenos Aires. The photographer is looking forward and slightly to port from the bridge showing a number of passengers and crew looking towards the shore and number 2 lifeboat is in the left foreground. An Italian passenger liner, either the Neptunia (1932) or the Oceania (1933) is berthed in the North Basin. On the skyline is the 120 metre high Kavanagh Building in the Retiro district of the city. The building was completed in 1936. The Puerto Madero docks are on the left. A vertical format negative.
