A general view of the Semiramis Hotel, known as the Queen of the Nile, on the bank of the River Nile at Kasr El-Doubara, Cairo, Egypt. the hotel was completed in 1907 and was demolished in the 1950s to make was for a much larger 28 storey hotel given the same name. Small feluccas are moored to the shore. On the river on the left is a large flat decked vessel whose deck is subdivided into sections by decorative fencing.
