The photographer is on board the Orient Line passenger cruise ship Orontes (1929) at anchor off the harbour looking south-south-west showing one the ship's tenders under way heading west towards the Grotta Azzurra (Blue Grotto). Residential and commercial premises, including the Hotel Metropole Ristorante and the Hotel Suisse, line the winding road up the slopes of Monte Cappello. A vertical format negative.
