The harbour on the north coast of Capri, Italy. The photographer is on board a passenger cruise ship at anchor off the harbour looking south-by-west showing the harbour with a long jetty on piles running along the shore and out into the sea during the construction of the breakwater. Residential and commercial premises line the waterfront and the winding road up the slopes of Monte Cappello. One of the buildings on the right is the Belle Vue & Trois Rois Restaurant.
