The photographer is on board an unidentified passenger cruise liner in port at Casablanca, Morocco, while it is manoeuvring with tug assistance. He is looking aft and to starboard from the starboard side of the promenade deck of the ship at the steam tug Phosphate No. 3 (1914) which is connected to the stern and is pulling her round. The tug is seen from abaft her port beam. A French Navy destroyer of the Bourrasque or L'Adroit classes is at moorings in the background.
