A distant view of the the town and harbour at Kavalla, Greece, taken from high ground to the north-west. Relatively modern pitched roof semi-detached houses are in the foreground on the slopes of the hill. The harbour is practically empty but the passenger cruise ship City Of London (1907), seen from off her starboard beam, is at anchor in the roadstead. The Akropoli Kavala is on the hilltop to the east of the town. This town is variously spelt Kavalla, Kavala and Cavala.
