Shipping in Colombo harbour, Ceylon.

A general view of shipping in the harbour at Colombo, Ceylon. At moorings in the foreground are a large number of rowing boats and passenger carrying motor launches. Five Maldives bugallas are at moorings with a country brigantine and a sailing lighter numbered 71. In the background are four cargo liners and the Cunard passenger cruise ship Franconia (1923). The Franconia (1923), seen from off her port quarter, is painted white overall; a colour scheme adopted at the end of the 1933 cruising season.
