The canal on the north-east side of the island of Slotsholmen at Copenhagen, Denmark, looking north-west. A few open fishing boats are in the canal and their funnel nets are hanging on the guardrails to dry. The commercial premises by the side of the canal include the Schucani Og A. Porta Restaurant, A. Frederiksen & Co Assurance offices, V. Bockelunds Efie and Carl Bang. The equestrian statue of Absalon is on Højbro Plads by the bridge.
