The floating market and the Waaigat in the Punda district at Willemstad, Curacao. The photographer is on the north side of the Waaigat looking south-west showing the numerous small sailing craft that comprise the floating market berthed alongside the quay. These boats all have awnings rigged above their decks. The buildings on the quayside include an hardware company, premises advertising 'Real Old White Horse Scotch Whisky', the WIMCO (West India Mercantile Co Ltd) showroom and La Corona.
