The floating market in the Waaigat at Willemstad, Curacao.

The floating market in the Waaigat in Willemstad harbour, Curacao. The photographer is looking north-north-west from the De Ruyterkade across the quay to a number of single masted sailing vessels berthed alongside to trade their wares. They all have awnings rigged over their decks. Parked on the end of the quay is a motor charabanc registered 1174. In the background are the warehouses and wharf of the Curacao Trading Company and alongside this wharf is the passenger cruise ship California (1923). Only her bridge, funnel and masts can be seen.
