On the Queen Emma pontoon swing bridge crossing Santa Anna Bay and looking towards the Otrabanda district of Willemstad, Curacao. Pedestrians and a motor car registered C1365 are on the bridge which is decorated with flags and strings of light bulbs and has a decorative arch at the end. The arch has the crest of a lion rampant armed with a sword which is surmounted by a crown outlined in lights. The letters JB are on either side of the arch. On the roof of the building in the background is an illuminated logo of a light bulb with the name Philips superimposed. A clock on the building is reading 1.17. The building on the left is the Hotel Americano. The festivities may be in celebration of the wedding of Princess Juliana of the Netherlands to Prince Bernhard of Lippe-Biesterfeld on 7 January 1937.
