No. 3 [Upper Hangar] Deck, location 3C. Looking towards the starboard side of the Cable Deck in the vicinity of frame 17. On the deck to the left is a multi-point connector for water hoses, while to the right are two large deck-mounted cable reels. A side-mounted reel is situated between the holes in the shell.

This is part of a series of photographs taken during the final stages of HMS Ark Royal's last major refit which was completed in 1970. The location references are derived from the deck plans in the latest edition of the ship's NBCD book.
