The market place on the Motlawa River, Danzig. Fishing vessels are alongside the quay including one named Seestern (fl. 1930) and others numbered DZG.2, DZG.3 and K.99. Two of the boats are drying their mainsail. Fishing nets are hung up to dry in the left foreground. The building in the centre is the brick-built circular Swan Tower with a cone-shaped tiled roof. Other premises facing the river are occupied by Carl Voigt, Alexander Barlasch, A.C. Stenzel and the Gasthaus Stadt London C. Ptach. The photographer is looking north-by-east.
