The west bank of the Motlawa River, Danzig and the Zuraw wooden port crane. The photographer is looking north along the river showing passenger paddle steamer alongside the quay in the foreground and she is wearing the ensign of the Free City of Danzig. Ahead of her two steam passenger launches are also berthed on the quay. Mariacka's Gate, which is the large building with the dome topped tower, and the Zuraw wooden port crane are on the west bank. Alongside the granaries on Granary Island are two general cargo coasters of which the outboard one, seen from very fine off her port quarter, is the Stettin registered Finnland (1921). This ship was renamed Oskar Friedrich (1921) and registered at Hamburg in 1930.
