The market place on the bank of the Motlawa River at Danzig. The photographer is looking west-north-west across the river showing motor fishing vessels and the bow of a small steamer named Erna alongside the quay. The buildings include the premises of the Kaffe Ausschank und Schwanenturm, the Gasthaus Stadt London, the Gasthaus S. Ptach and Hermann Arndt. The brick-built circular Swan Tower with a cone-shaped tiled roof is in the centre.
