The shipbuilding yard of Schichau-Werke at Ostrow Island in the delta of the Vistula River at Danzig. A floating dock is on the left and in the centre is the German Navy fleet support ship Ermland (1939), seen from off her port bow, which is fitting out. Beyond the Ermland (1939) is the Norwegian cargo liner Tamesis (1939) in the later stages of fitting out. She was launched 13 May 1939 and completed in September 1939. On the right is a floating crane. An hammerhead crane dominates the background.
