On board the P. & O. Line passenger cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) anchored in Lokrum roadstead at Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia. The photographer is on the front of the promenade deck on the port side looking forward over the forecastle at the eastern outskirts of Dubrovnik. On the left is the Kase Breakwater protecting the old harbour and beyond it is Revelin Fortress. The large four storey building in the centre is the Gimnazija (secondary school). The hill in the background is steep and wooded.
