On board the P. & O. Line passenger cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) anchored in Lokrum roadstead at Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia. The photographer is on the front of the promenade deck on the starboard side looking forward and to port showing St John's Fortress, part of the south wall and the Porporela (pier) of Dubrovnik Old Town. A passenger steamer is alongside the stone pier in the old harbour. The Minceta tower is in the right background. In the foreground two of the ship's boats can be seen stowed in the well deck abaft the foremast. A vertical format negative.
