Cruise liners and the Old Town of Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia
The Old Town of Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia. The photographer is looking east from the Minceta Tower showing the outer walls of the Old Town and the tower of the Dominican Monastery on the left. In the centre is St. John's Fortress. The building with the small dome on the right is the church of St. Blaise. At anchor in the sheltered Lokrum roadstead is the Italian flagged passenger cruise ship Conte Grande (1928) seen from off her starboard beam. Beyond her is the P. & O. Line passenger cruise ship Strathnaver (1931), also seen from off her starboard beam. Lokrum Island is in the right background.
