A large 3 storey building in the village of Ulvik on the shore of Ulvikfjord, Norway.

The photographer is looking north-east along the shoreline from a quayside in the village of Ulvik on the shore of the Ulvikfjord showing a 3 storey wooden residential building with a projecting double height bay with pitched roof above the front door. There are two projecting signs above the front entrance indicating a commercial use. The quay in front of this building is piled high with split firewood. Alongside the quay is a 2 masted motor barge with Bergen painted on the transom (name of vessel or port of registry?). Approaching the quay in the foreground is an Orient Line motor lifeboat numbered IV with two crew and a few passengers on board.
