HMS Ark Royal (1950)

No. 3 [Upper Hangar] Deck. The interior of the hangar space, looking to port from the vicinity of frame 137. At deck level are spaces for aircraft electrical servicing equipment, stowage for servicing cable, an avcat fueling/defueling point, radar cooling point, a low-pressure air point, Fire Point no. 8 and ejector seat stowage. The doorway to the left is part of the fireproof screen arrangement and leads to the after part of the hangar.

This is part of a series of photographs taken during the final stages of HMS Ark Royal's last major refit which was completed in 1970. The location references are derived from the deck plans in the latest edition of the ship's NBCD book.
