HMS Ark Royal (1950)

No. 5 [Lower Hangar] Deck. Interior of the hangar, looking to port from the vicinity of frame 114. In view are a NATO air panel, the vents for down take 7MZ0, hydraulic hose stowage, a low pressure air point, a Fire Point and an open watertight door leading to access lobby 5L2-00. A ladder is propped up against a large stowage shelf at 'tween deck' level.

This is part of a series of photographs taken during the final stages of HMS Ark Royal's last major refit which was completed in 1970. The location references are derived from the deck plans in the latest edition of the ship's NBCD book.
