V Beach at Cape Helles on the Gallipoli peninsula. The photographer is looking east-by-south across the landing beach from high ground showing the English Cemetery on the left with the temporary pier built to assist the unloading of stores and personnel into the narrow bridgehead and the evacuation of wounded. The ruins of Sedd el Bahr Fort are in the right background. This is the beach where the Dublin Fusiliers landed from the converted collier River Clyde (1905) on 25 April 1915.
