In the left foreground is the passenger ferry Gibel Dersa (1897) under way bound out, seen from off her starboard side just ahead of the beam. Only the forepart of the ship is in the picture. Beyond her are the Western Arm and the harbour entrance between the Arm and the Detached Mole. Signal Hill is on the right and Willis Battery peak is on the left.
