He is on the centreline just ahead of the superstructure looking forward and slightly to starboard showing the ship's foremast, the starboard kingpost, the forecastle and lifeboat number 1 in her davits. The west side of Gibraltar is in the distance with Europa Flats on the right and Willis Battery peak in the centre.
