A harbour scene on the island of Guadeloupe in the French West Indies

A harbour scene on the island of Guadeloupe in the French West Indies. The ships in harbour are all sailing ships, mainly single masted sloops. Stacks of sawn timber are on the far quayside and a building on the right has Chantiers A. Ovestel & Co on it. The place is not known but it may be Pointe-a-Pitre. A few people are at the water's edge in the foreground.
